The Peculiar Tales of the S.S. Bungalow (Full Version) - Big World Audio Theatre

Artist: Big World Audio Theatre

Album: The Peculiar Tales of the S.S. Bungalow

Description: The half-story/half-musical hybrid from the (very) multi-headed hydra that is Portland, Oregon's Big World Audio Theatre gets a limited-time giveaway.  That's right, for the month of August you can download their fine debut The Peculiar Tales of the S.S. Bungalow.  It's worth more than that (throw in a couple dollars at least), but if you haven't had an opportunity to listen, take advantage of this.  (Also, below the Noisetrade widget, find a brief promo video the band made to introduce the album to newbies.)

Introducing the Jelly of the Month Club - Jelly of the Month Club

Artist: Jelly of the Month Club

Album: Introducing the Jelly of the Month Club

Description:  I hope to have a review of the debut album from this all-star band featuring SoCal ska/surf/soul musicians soon, but in the meantime, here's an opportunity for you to download the whole album.  It's "name your price," but since they're asking for donations to fund their next video, it'd be churlish not to throw in at least a buck or two (or more).

Songs for a Healthier America - Various Artists

Artist:  Various Artists

Album: Songs for a Healthier America

Description:  This album, presented by Hip Hop Public Health and Partnership for a Healthier America, features songs that are "designed to motivate kids to make healthier exercise and lifestyle choices."  Longtime readers will know that good intentions don't carry much weight (pun unintended) with me, and while most of the album isn't kindie strictly speaking, Brady Rymer's "Jump Up (It's a Good Day)" is on there, as is a track from Mil's Trills' Amelia Robinson.  (I will admit -- your tweens may be more excited about the presence of Ariana Grande, Jordin Sparks, or Ryan Beatty.  Just go with it.)

Chocolalala - Mister G

Artist:  Mister G

Album:  Chocolalala

Description:  With the label, "For your consideration...," the availability of Mister G's latest album for free download suggests that a Grammy nomination is in the Massachusetts' singer-songwriter's sights.  But you don't have to be a voter to enjoy the bright, bilingual pop here.
