Video: "Rocketship" - Stacey Peasley (World Premiere!)

Sometimes all your kids -- or you -- need is a simple pop song with a cute video.  If that's you today, might I suggest this video for "Rocketship" from Stacey Peasley?  The song's a catchy and danceable guitar-driven number perfect for the closest kindergartener with a space obsession.  (Evidently there are a number of said kindergarteners, because Peasley reports it's the most popular track off her 2016 Marty Beller-produced album RSVP.)  When the song paired with the suuuuuupercute video from eg design based on illustrations from Jill Howarth, the whole package really, er... takes off.  [Ducks behind curtain to avoid thrown objects.]

Anyway, I'm happy to world-premiere this fun video!

Video: "Water Cycle" - The Bazillions

Welp, it's another winning video from Minnesota band The Bazillions.  Their latest effort with eg design is for "Water Cycle" off the band's latest effort, the fine album On the Bright Side.  Appropriately enough for a song all about the movement of H! 2! O! throughout our atmosphere and geography, it uses watercolor images.  It's lovely.

Video: "No Homework" - The Bazillions

I like to think of myself as liking a broad range of musical styles, but, yeah, powerpop!  One of the most consistent kindie powerpop purveyors are Twin Cities band The Bazillions, and when you add their consistently great videos to the mix, no wonder there's all sorts of Bazillions videos up here in this site.

The latest video from the band and their partners at eg design is for "No Homework," and while it's school-inspired, it doesn't quite have the learning-first approach of some of their best-known classics.  In fact, given that the song is called "No Homework," maybe it's learning last?  Anyway, the video can also be found on their brand-new Rockin' Video Collection DVD, available on their website.

Video: "Sea Turtle" - The Whizpops (World Premiere)

Montana kindie band The Whizpops have had an increasingly educational bent to their songs as their career has progressed and on their third album Sea Blue Sea (out tomorrow, August 19th), they tackle -- oh, I'm pretty sure you can guess the subject.  Ten songs about marine life (not just animals, because coral reef gets a song of its own), and one of the catchiest is "Sea Turtle."  Learning about the carapace has never been this much fun.

I'm happy to present the world premiere of the video for that track, created by Zooglobble favorites eg design.  The animated video packs in a lot of useful information, and its bright marine palette will draw in the youngsters.  And, yes, you will learn what a "carapace" is.

Video: "Prefix or Suffix?" - The Bazillions

In the name "Kickstarter," identify the prefix and/or the suffix.  Go.

This video for "Prefix or Suffix?" is the second one funded via The Bazillions' Kickstarter project to fund a new set of videos from their Heads or Tales? album, following their video for "Silent e."  Jangly and educational in all the best ways.
