Description:  Hopefully the phrase "protege of Hayao Miyazaki" is sufficient for fans of family-friendly movies, but just watch what is essentially a trailer for director Sunao Katabuchi's Mai Mai Miracle and hopefully that will convince you that this would be a worthy movie to see in the English-language part of the world.

The movie itself won a number of awards upon its release in 2009 but hasn't yet been released in the UK or the United States.  This Kickstarter will raise the funds to produce English subtitles, and assuming they reach their stretch goal of $60,000 (very likely given their success in just 48 hours), a dubbed version of the movie.  Definitely looks promising.

New Adventures of Morph from Aardman Animation

Project:  All New Adventures of Morph from Aardman Animations

Description:  Aardman Animations, the studio behind Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep, Pirates!, and Chicken Run, is looking for help to re-launch one of their classic characters, Morph, online with a dozen new episodes?  Sign. Me. Up.  As of this writing, they're already cleared their goal and are shooting for stretch goal #1 -- 15 episodes instead of 12.  Peter Lord, one of Aardman's co-founders, is in charge.  Like I said, Sign. Me. Up.

Mobius: Animated Series for Families

Description : I love the concept of this project -- it's an animated series developed for smartphones and tablets about Mobius, "an incredibly adventurous 8 year old, who loves nothing more than to escape his hum-drum, fish and chips, tea and toast village in rural England and go on expeditions that almost every kid dreams of."  The rough "animatic" posted on the project page is funny, and does seem to hit the mark for humor for both parent and kid.

Unfortunately, the project doesn't seem to have taken off, and they've only had about 0.5% of the $260,000 British pounds they're seeking collected.  But even with that, a pledge for this project is a vote for good, smart family entertainment.
